Firewall Problems?
Open your Windows Media Player.
Select >Tools >Options >Select the network tab
Uncheck the multicast, UDP and TCP boxes. Make sure that HTTP is checked. Select
OK at the bottom of the menu. To ensure that your changes go into effect, close
and re-open your Windows Media Player.
Windows Media Player doesn't open outside
of browser? If you are running a version of windows that opens up a
WindowsMedia.com box on the left hand side of the Explorer Browser, you will
probably need to follow the directions below to disable it so that you can
listen to the live stream:
1. Click on the button on the top toolbar that says "Media"
2. At the bottom of the list, select "Settings".
3. Make sure that "Play Web Media" is not checked or enabled. This should
eliminate the problem, and open a WMP window.
Common error when listening with Windows
Media- "Windows Media Player cannot play this file. Please connect to the
internet"? This issue can be solved quickly on most versions of Windows
Media Player.
1. Open Windows Media Player
2. Select "Tools"
3. Select "Options"
4. At the bottom of the menu make sure that "Connect to the Internet (overrides
other commands)" is checked. This should solve the issue and allow listening.
Microsoft's installation help page
If you already have Media Player installed, is it the latest version? Check for Windows Media Player: Windows 95, 98, or NT 4.0 should be version 6.4, Windows 3.x should be version 3.0, Macintosh should be version 6.3 beta. Windows users can identify the version of the player they are currently using by "right clicking" their mouse when it is over the player, and looking at the properties box.
If you are using Microsoft Internet Explorer, do you have the security setting at "Medium" or lower? Our audio streams do not work on systems set to high security. If you need to change your security settings, restart your computer completely before trying again.
If you memory or cache file folders are full you may experience audio streaming errors, try emptying your Temporary Internet files, and any addition files, such as the contents of the recycling bin.

When we are off-air, please send your emails

1.) If you use Yahoo! Msgr to talk with us or our guests - please turn down volume or turn your speakers away from your Mike WHEN you go live with us, or there will be loop-back (like echo) and make the conversation confusing (for you). It is best if you use earphones (v. speakers) when talking to us live.
2.) If you are on dialup ISP - pause after you speak (if you have it set on hands-free) because of your baud (connect) rate - so you hear what we say, similar to the old days of CB radio, or simplex communications, although we have capability at our end to do duplex / two-way conversation.
3.) We STRONGLY recommend you download the latest version of Windows Media Player and change the settings per the instructions below to BUFFER = 30 seconds.
4.) You "can" browse as you listen/talk via Yahoo! but again, depending upon your ISP and connection, or RAM (and whether you clean up your Hard Drive regularly) and other factors, we suggest you listen and not surf (at same time) especially if you are talking with us live.
5.) If you go live with us and it becomes apparent we have a bad connection or some other problem communicating with you, please do not continue to attempt to re-connect by voice and have us do diagnostics at that time as everything you/we are saying will be broadcast worldwide and this also takes away time on the program for our presenters and other listeners.
Do not worry about missing part of our broadcast - IF YOU WANT TO TALK WITH US, disconnect from the internet and use your phone to call. After we get you on the air, you can tune us back in via computer and listen to the rest of the show. We will have ALL shows Archived so you can "listen-on-demand" for any broadcast you missed where you participated that way.
If you like, before or after a broadcast (or by arrangement - send us email info) we can run a test with you (off the air) if you are in a foreign country with bad phone lines. This will let you know what settings to modify and whether you can use Yahoo! for talking with us on live shows.
6.) Check out LD plans - we know from locations such as Switzerland, you can talk for 5 cents/minute. We understand money is a factor when making such calls, so we BUSY OUT lines when we have sufficient callers on-line and our Switchboard Operator has determined WHERE you are calling from within the first minute - that way, we put On the callers from far away places first and ask others to call-back. So if you get a busy - we are either very inundated with other callers, OR - we have a few callers online and by keeping you from reaching the switchboard, you do NOT PAY for any LD charges until you callback. This we have found is better than having many people on-hold for long periods who then do not get to speak with us or the guest and are billed for the call, then do not bother calling on other shows. So KEEP TRYING TO CALL, if you get through we WILL get you on the air!
7.) Highway 2 Health currently only broadcasts LIVE SHOWS MONDAYS-THURSDAYS 9+10PM EST. If you click the Tropic Wave Radio (to listen) to open up your windows player at any other time, you will not get connected - do not panic, TWR is not sending out a stream for H2H.
**** We recommend you tune in to TWR a 2 minutes before top of the hour to make sure you hear the very beginning of every broadcast. Our stream goes live 2-minutes prior to air.
Tropic Wave Radio hosts other show content - nothing to do with our H2H show.
Highway 2 Health is our Radio Program, Tropic Wave Radio is the "station" that hosts our show, they are separate. Thank You.
